Please purchase/rent instruments from reputable MUSIC stores. Box stores and on-line sales sites that sell clothes/food/home goods, everything you can think of, sell "disposable" instruments at very low prices, i.e. the quality is poor and the instruments will not be repaired by local music stores. This means when they break, you must purchase another instrument. These instruments tend to have more problems and this is VERY frustrating for a beginner musician. Beginners need a working instrument. If you are considering an on-line purchase, please contact Mrs. Clavell before purchasing. MANY families have lost money trying to save by purchasing a less expensive instrument from a bidding website.
2. Lesson Book
Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone/Euphonium, Tuba, Percussion:
Essentials Elements Book 1
3. Music Stand (to be used for home practice)
There are many different types of music stands available in store and on-line. A music stand is vital to help develop proper posture and playing position when practicing at home.
4. Metronome (to be used for home practice)
A metronome is an essential tool in developing an internal pulse and learning to maintain a consistent tempo. Metronomes are available as free apps on any device, for purchase at music stores or found on-line free of charge. Click here for a free on-line metronome.
